Live Green, Die Green
You are going to die.
That is all there is to it. Truer words never existed. It is completely inevitable, even more so than taxes. You may be able to cheat the taxman, but never the reaper.
A green life person would most likely prefer to go out the way they lived, being kind to the environment. What have become traditional and accepted burial rituals in our society are not at all friendly to Mother Nature.
Check this out:
180,544,000 pounds of steel is used in casket construction annually
(that is more steel than it took to build the Golden Gate bridge!)
5,400,000 pounds of copper is used for lining caskets
827,060 gallons of embalming fluid is used to prepare bodies for burial
30,000,000 pounds of concrete is used for burial vaults
28,000,000 pounds of steel is also used for vaults
